Imagine a group of people, young and old, who are on a journey with God and want to make the most of the opportunities they've been given where God has placed them.

They desire to be real in their relationships, passionate about their faith, changed because God won't leave them the way they are, and poured out for others.

We hope and pray to be that kind of people.  We strive to be a community who is with Jesus to learn from Jesus how to be like Jesus.

Jesus was asked what the "greatest commandment" was and he summed up all the commands of the Old Testament by saying we should love God and others completely.  Then in the same way that he had called disciples he gave us the commission to go and make disciples of all nations.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
— Matthew 22:36-40 (NIV)
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

— Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)

Whether you have questions about whether there is a God or you are committed to following Jesus, we invite you to join us.  We'd love to meet you and have a conversation about where you are in your journey.

Vandalia Nazarene Beginnings

In 1958, a group of people met together in a bank building on National Rd. and felt that God had brought them together and wanted them to start a church in Vandalia.  They met together for several years until they found the current location on Stonequarry Rd. where they could build a meeting place.  We thank God for those that came before us with a vision for the ministry that we are a part of.  As we look forward we appreciate those who sacrificed for the mission of the church.

What do we believe?

We believe in one God-the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, are inspired by God, and contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

We believe that man is born turned away from God, was created "good" but is corrupted, and is inclined toward evil.

We believe that there are two roads, with God and without.  There are eternal consequences for the road we choose.

We believe that the atonement of Christ is for all of humanity and we can repent, turn toward God, be forgiven, and begin a relationship with God that can last forever.

We believe that believers are to be transformed, sanctified, renewed, and poured out for others.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is with us, empowers us, convicts us, guides us, and leads us.

We believe that our Lord will return and He will make "all things new".  (Revelation 21:5)
